San Juanillo is on the Pacific Coast of The Nicoya Peninsula. Being located in a “tropical dry forest”, an environment unique to this area, wehave some of the best weather in all of Central America. This means “30-40% more sunshine than most of Costa Rica”, a less-humid dry season and a pleasant green season that brings just enough rain to simply keep us green! We are conveniently located less than two hours from the International Airport at Liberia (See “Travel Info.”) and a short 20-minute scenic drive to the airstrip (and “hustle-and-bustle”) of Nosara. With an unparalleled selection of beaches in the immediate area, San Juanillo is a perfect place to base your Costa Rica vacation. (See “Maps”)

Our nearest neighbor, Playa Ostional only 5 kilometers south, is home to a National Wildlife Refuge and one of the main nesting beaches in the world for the Olive Ridley Turtles! (See “Activities”) Ostional also offers great waves for surfing as does our other neighbor, Playa Azul at Marbella only 5 kilometers to north.
